Job title: Production Operative

Description: We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative at our Telford site to operate high volume filling/packing machines producing a food safe high quality finished product, delivered in line with retailer codes of practice. The successful candidate will be part of a TM Telford Manufacturing Operation. You will enable TM Telford to achieve its strategic vision through a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. You will also be able to produce a quality product whilst meeting our specifications according to laid down procedures in the most efficient way.

Your challenge

In this role the key responsibilities will include:

• Proactive to all matters concerning health and safety
• Ensure all product is produced within specification and adheres to all Critical Control Points
• Co-operate with employer in assisting them to fulfil their statutory duties
• To use all company equipment for the purpose it was intended and in accordance with health and safety procedures
• Accurately complete and record protocol checks to ensure full traceability of product
• Operate with a continuous improvement mindset to identify line waste and generate best practices to deliver a reduction
• Prompt reporting of any accident near misses to your Line Manager
• Carry out basic routine maintenance in accordance to the product asset care schedules
• Strive to achieve the highest quality product, highlighting any concerns to your manager
• Maintain the hygienic standards of the production environment and general housekeeping of your working area
• Operate manufacturing machinery in accordance to laid down procedures
• Prompt fault finding and timely corrective action or escalation
• Carry out all reasonable management requests and to operate flexibly
• Flexible approach to your work arrangements
• Maintain the hygienic standards of the production environment and general housekeeping of your working area
• Working on high speed/high volume machines and plant
• Working cross functionally with Processing, Quality and Engineering Teams to ensure product is delivered on time and in full


Key skills & experience

• Relevant food manufacturing qualification
• Basic Food Hygiene
• Relevant health and safety training
• Chemical training
• Mechanical handling equipment
• Results orientated with attention to detail
• Flexible and enjoys a challenge
• Team work and collaboration
• Self-motivated with personal drive
• Good communication skills
• Able to work under own initiative in a high speed environment
